Meet Our Runners: Joe Edmonds
Friday 23 February 2024
We have ten tremendous runners who have taken up the challenge of running for our charity in this years London Marathon, here is why Joe chose to run for us!
Meet Our Runners: Joe Edmonds
I have been working as a nurse in Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT) since 2010, during that time I have been fortunate to experience some of the amazing things that our Trust does every single day. I have both worked at, and been a patient at, High Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville Hospitals and seen first-hand the hard work and dedication that our staff put in to make people better at their most vulnerable.
In 2005 I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease which drastically changed my life. For the last 13 years I have received fantastic compassionate care from all the people that have helped me on my journey, which is why I continue to work with my BHT family.
In the last 8 years BHT has brought both of my children into the world safely and I am forever grateful for everything that the organisation does. I am honoured to have been asked to run the London Marathon this year to raise money for the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust Charitable Fund so that more people in Buckinghamshire can have the opportunity of receiving fantastic care and treatment just like I have.
