The Mayor of High Wycombe chooses two charities to support each year, this year he has chosen to support two charities, Chiltern Wood School and the High Wycombe Breast Cancer Unit within Wycombe Hospital.
High Wycombe Breast Cancer Unit
The Breast Unit supports thousands of patients across Bucks each year, using state of the art technology to provide short pathways for patients who identify a problem with their breasts and enables patients to be tested and treated quickly. In addition to this symptomatic service the Breast Unit also offers routine Breast Screening as part of the National Health Service Breast Screening Service (NHSBSP), inviting women aged 50-70 years for routine breast screening every 3 years.
Being able to offer these two services from one location means that patients in Bucks can access the services needed to identify, diagnose and treat Breast issues and Cancers quickly and effectively.
