NSIC Table Tennis-a-thon

Patients, families, friends and colleagues celebrated 80 years of the National Spinal Injuries Centre (NSIC), lighting the torch for this year’s Paralympics and raising £441 for the NSIC on Saturday 24 August.

The celebrations kicked off with a 24-hour Table Tennis-a-thon at 4 pm on Friday 23 August. A collaborative effort by patients, friends and staff kept up the table tennis through the night. The event culminated in a Bake-off competition and a street food party on Saturday afternoon.

Cakes submitted to the competition were judged on the interpretation of the themes – either 80th birthday or Paralympics – before the all-important taste test. Entries were then given away for a small donation.
