Last year, Joe ran the London Marathon for us, this year he’s lacing up his running shoes again, this time to take on the Brighton Marathon whilst raising money for our charity. Hear in his own words why he chose to support us below.

I have been working as a nurse in Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT) since 2010, during that time I have been fortunate to experience some of the amazing things that our Trust does every single day. I have both worked at, and been a patient at, High Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville Hospitals and seen first-hand the hard work and dedication that our staff put in to make people better at their most vulnerable.
In 2005 I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease which drastically changed my life. For the last 15 years I have received fantastic compassionate care from all the people that have helped me on my journey, which is why I continue to work with my BHT family.
In the last 9 years BHT has brought both of my children into the world safely and I am forever grateful for everything that the organisation does. I am honoured to have been asked to run the Brighton Marathon this year to raise money for the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust Charitable Fund so that more people in Buckinghamshire can have the opportunity of receiving fantastic care and treatment just like I have.
